The euphoria did not allow him to return for the final.

The Sri Lanka Champion, Abeykoon Mudiyanselage followed suit in the final to place second in a new national record of 10.15s to 10.13s recorded by the winner Italian Patta Lorenzo. Ivorian Champion, Cisse Arthur who ran 10.15s in the heat came fourth in the final with 10.27s.
In the 400m female, Marileidy Paulino who just broke Dominica Republic 400m record last week; went further again to set new record of 50.70s.
The reigning 200m world champion, British Dina Asher-Smith was impressive in 22.56s to make mince meat of the whole field in 200m.
