After a lengthy crisis talk today between International Olympics Committee ( IOC) and International Federation, the IOC has came out to issue a lengthy statement saying the game will still go ahead.
IOC pointed out that there is no need to take a “drastic decisions at this stage” regarding this year’s Olympic and Paralympic Games, despite growing concern over the impact of the coronavirus on the event.
The committee further dismissed “counter-productive” speculation that Tokyo 2020 could be postponed or cancelled and repeated its insistence the Games would go ahead as planned.
