Ruth Ushoro Wins, Athing Mu And Cambrea Sturgis Too Fast As Ofili Impressed In NCAA Final

A freshman in a season with national record under her belt, ruthless Ruth Ushoro finally nailed the NCAA triple jump title on Saturday (12).

Ushoro kept her best jump for the last to beat energetic Jasmine Moore to soared to 14.19m to Moore 14.13m.

On the one lap race, American new sensation Athing Mu’s sting prevailed to win in collegial record and meet record of 49.57s.

Cambrea Sturgis towered above all to take a sprint double in scintillating time. In the 100m, she returned 10.74s (2.2) to win and came back strongly again to run collegial lead of 22.12s, narrowly beating Tamara Clark who finished in 22.17s. Anaa Cockrell won 400m hurdle in 54.68s.

Nigeria Favor Ofili was also impressive on her first NCAA 200m final as she race to fourth position in 22.45s. Another Nigeria, Esther Isa was 18th position in high jump after scaling 1.78m.
