A new Nigeria Star On A 60m Prowl

All eyes was raised when a Nigerian prodigy, Favour Ashe ran 6.58s last two weeks. But the nickname ‘speedstar’ , 19 years old Favour proved his time was not a flash in the pan as he raced to an astonishing 6.52s win in the heat yesterday at Tyson invitations to qualified as fastest.

But sadly in the final, Favour looked like combing an injury by just managing to finish. The final was won in 6.61s by Kalen Walker.

In the female 60m, Mary Beth Sant-Price was fastest with an impressive 7.04s, beating Shericka Jackson who ran 7.12 in her first ever indoor. Another Nigerian sensation, Favour Ofili impressed again to win the second final by running 7.25s.
