Moroccan Record Holder Provisional Suspended For Doping

A Moroccan national 5000m champion and half marathon record holder Aziz Lahbabi has been issued with provisional suspension for taking unnamed ban substance by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU).

In 2011, Aziz received a six-month ban for taking methylhexanamine, a ban substance.

Aziz first international breakthrough came when he won first international medal at the 2010 World Junior Championships in Athletics, taking third place in the 5000 metres. He placed 13th at the senior race for the 2011 African Cross Country Championships, which was enough for a team bronze medal. He later set a 5000 m best of 13:13.68 minutes.
