The Swiss Alex Wilson who ran a new European 100m record just 10 days ago and was later cancelled is in serious soup after been thrown out of Tokyo Olympics for doping.
According to Athletics Integrity Unit ( AIU) press release earlier today; the previous suspension of Alex which he’s country lifted has been reinstated.
The out-training-sample collected from Alex on 15th March, 2021 revealed the presence of metabolite of an anabolic steroid-trenbolone. Subsequently a mandatory suspension was imposed on him by the Switzerland Anti-Doping Agency.
In his defense, Alex claimed the metabolite came from contaminated beef he ate at Jamaica restaurant in US in his challenge of the suspension; the Disciplinary Chamber Of Swiss Olympics then lifted the suspension on July 2nd.
But AIU then switched into an action by filling an application against the discision. Then today, CAS Ad-hoc Division in Tokyo requested the provisional suspension be reinstated.
