Sha’carri Richardson Responded To Okagbare And Fraser As Sturgis Crashed

The newly crowned American champion, Sha”carri Richardson responded adequately to Blessing Okagbare and Shelly-Ann Fraser on Saturday (19) at Oregon US Trials.

In the semifinal, Sha’carri blasted 10.64s with a wind of 2.6 m/s similar to Blessing Okagbare’s 10.63s (2.7) in Lagos and to Shelly-Ann Fraser 10.63s. More interesting, Sha’carri even easing off ten meters to finish, pointing to the time.

But in the final, she submerged everyone to win in 10.84s (-1.0) beaten Janvier Oliver 10.99s to second place. The NCAA Champion who ran 10.74s (2.2), Cambria Sturgis failed to make it to final. She came sixth in the semifinal in Sha’carri heat in 11.05s.
