The 2016 Africa champion, Botswana Babaloki Thebe seems to be impressed by his performance on Saturday (12) in magficient Gaborone Botswana stadium.
In his heat 6, Thebe came second in 46.47s behind Zibane Ngozi who returned 45.80s; and Thebe placed third overall.
This is the first race of 24-years-old Ramonaka born Thebe, after moved to Ivory Coast to join his coach. An aftermath of the athlete’s late-night escapades last year which left his fellow national team athlete wheelchair bound after being involved in a motor vehicle accident. Thebe was alleged to be driver of the vehicle. Both Thebe and the concerned athlete had sneaked out of camp for a night out with friends.
Rhoda Njobvu was more impressive as she took 100m in 11.29s (0.1) and 200m in 22.65s (1.1). In men, Letsile Tebogo followed suit to take 100m in 10.45s and 200m on 20.53s.
