The world 200m fastest man this season, Terrance Laid was completely dazed over 200m on Friday at the NCAA championship.
Terrance had comfortable won the 100m title earlier in 10.02s, beating Shaun Maswanganyi and Micah Richard. But in 200m his favourite, despite boasted one of fastest last 50m of 200m; Joseph Fahnbulleh, a freshman from Hopkins, Minnesota, roared from behind in the final meters to claim the victory in 19.91 seconds.
Terrance returned 19.94s in second place while South Africa Shaun Maswanganyi was third in 20.10s.
Fahnbulleh’s winning time is eighth-fastest in NCAA history, and the fourth-fastest in the championship meet all-time.
It was the second national title of the week by a Gator track and field athlete. Previously, Thomas Mardal took the hammer throw title on Wednesday.
