Phil Normal Ran Olympics Qualification Time With 27-year-old fastest Time By Any British

The stream of good showing of British athletes at yesterday Ostrava Golden Spike did also flow into the corner of British steeplechase Champion, Phil Normal.

The 31-year-old Phil was yet to hit the Olympics qualification mark of 8:22.00 before yesterday; but with high fast tempo of the race yesterday by the winner Ethiopian Gatnet Wale, Phil finished in 8:20.12. Phil’s time yesterday was inside the Olympics qualification and the fastest by any British in 27 years over the 3000m Steeplechase. Wale finished in a world leading time of 8.08.47.

At the last Olympics in 2016, Norman had never broken 9:00 in a steeple but improve last year to 8:32.51 to win British championship.
