At Last Teenager Adeleke Breaks Irish National Record

A real icing on the cake for consistent beautiful performance all through this season finally came for a teenage Irish sensational, Rhasidat Adeleke. At the weekend at the Big 12 Championship in New York, the 18-year-old Adeleke risen to her potential by breaking the Irish 200m.

Adeleke is currently on an athletic scholarship at the University of Texas and at last in the meet at Manhattan she broke Phil Healy’s Irish record in the 200m, as she ran a sensational 22.96s in the semi-final to break the previous record by 0.03 seconds.

She also further broke the Irish U-20 and U-23 record for the 100m, with a 11.31 time that is only 0.03 off the Irish senior record (also held by Healy).
