The 20th European Throw Cup which started today in Croatian city of Split spring up good big throw on the first day of two days event.
The event was originally scheduled to take place in Leiria, Portugal on 13-14 March but the it had to be moved to Split owing to the prevailing coronavirus situation in the country which saw the regional health authorities advise against staging the event.
In the shot put, German former Heptathlete Sara Gambetta won the gold in European lead and personal best of 18.86m while Dubitskaya Aliona (Belarusian) took silver with 18.79m and bronze to Turkey Derelie Emel who threw 18.26m.
World Champion Johannes Vetter threw another monstrous throw of 91.12m to take gold, silver by Mardare Andrian in Moldova national record of 86.66m and bronze to Mialeshka Pavel ( Belarusian) with 82.55m throw.
In shot put men, gold went to Romania Toader Andrei who threw personal record of 20.83m, silver to Portuguese Belo Francisco -20.47m and bronze to British six times Champion Lincoln Scott- threw 20.25m.
In the hammer male, gold to Turkish Apak Esref-75.99m, silver to British Bennett Chris-75.36m and bronze to Chaussinand Yann of France who threw 74.54m.
