Near Misses Of Japanese National Record By Watanabe Akane And Daichi Highlight Shizuoka Meet

At the Shizuoka International Athletics Meet on Monday (3) in Watanabe Akane and Morishita Daichi provided the highlight performance in a close to national record result.

In the hammer female throw, Akane threw 65.22m to near 66.79m national record. She beat Katsuyama Ititomi 60.54m to second.

Kitamura Yuma took 800m in 2:03.05. Sekimoto Mocka ran 57.33s in 400m hurdle while Iki Aiko rattled everybody in 200m in 23.71s.

In shot put, Moritshita Daichi was impressive with a winning throw of 18.01m, close to 18.85m national record.

Another impressive performance from both Eto Takashi and Tobe Naoto who both scaled 2.30m in high jump but Eto adjudged winner. In 200m men, Iizuka Syota was quick in 20.52s (-0.5).
