The Missouri born 27 years old reigning world hammer champion, DeAnna Price has again extended American national hammer record distance on Friday (9) at the Tom Botts Invitation.
Price broke her own American hammer throw record by throwing 78.60m in her fifth throw, the distance which now stand the third-furthest throw in women’s hammer throw history.
Price, a two-time NCAA Champion, came within a meter of the second-farthest throw in world history, a mark of 79.42m set in 2011 and held by Betty Heidler of Germany. The top mark in the history of the event is 82.98m held by Poland native Anita Wlodarczyk.
