The 2019 Asian Javelin silver medalist, India Annu Rani open with a spark the five days National Championship which started today.
Annu who broke national record in World Champion in 2019 when she threw 62.43 meters, but threw further today to set a new national record of 63.24 meters.
A 28 years old Annu, was born in an agricultural family in Bahadurpur village in Uttar Pradesh . Her first coach was her brother who saw her potential talent by noticed her upper body strength during a cricket game. He began to train her by asking her to hurl sugarcane sticks in an empty field. Annu’s first javelin stick was one that she crafted herself from a long piece of bamboo, because she couldn’t afford one.
