Deadline Given For Athletes’ Update Of Whereabouts

The Athletic Integrity Unit has announced 15th March, 2021 as the deadline for athletes to update their whereabouts. It now leave a week left to file the whereabouts for the second quarter of this year; which is obligatory for those athletes on registered testing pool.

Athletes are subject to testing 365 days a year and do not have “off-seasons” or cutoff periods in which testing does not occur. Whereabouts information (dates, times, locations, etc.) is information submitted to national Anti-Doping Agency by an athlete that allows the athlete to be located for out-of-competition testing.

While registered testing pool are athletes who have been notified that they are part of their national Anti-Doping Agency’s Registered Testing Pool (RTP) and are responsible for directly keeping them informed of their Whereabouts via quarterly Whereabouts filings and ongoing updates so as to be available for out-of-competition testing.
