Nigeria Mercy Ntia-Obong And Rosemary Dominate First Day Of NJCAA Championship

Nigeria athletes are gearing up for a clean sweep of this year US NJCAA Championship in Pittsburgh, a two days event which started yesterday.

In the 60m heat, Nigeria international, Mercy Ntia-Obong was the fastest with 7.32s and Youth Olympics Champion, Nigeria Rosemary Chukwuma was the second fastest after winning her heat in 7.42s. The final is later this evening, joining them in the final is another Nigeria Junior Champion, Success Umukoro who top her heat in 7.51s.

Rosemary was second fastest again in 200m winning her heat in 23.79s while Mercy was 23.92s third fastest.

In 400m boys, Victor Akhalu was impressive by winning his heat with 47.45s. Onoara Obamuwagun came second with 6.04m in the long jump girls.
