Arena Torun hosts the 36th edition of the European Indoor Championships which started on Thursday (4) and to end on 7th of March 2021.
The Championship will be the first major multi-event competition for more than a year for many athletes whose schedules have been affected by coronavirus.
Spanish Toimil Maria Belen and Danish Pedersen Alberte ignited a spark in the heat today. In the Shot Put, Toimil Maria Belen broke Spain national record to came third in her heat with 18.64m to qualify for final. Pedersen Alberte also followed suit to break 3000m Denmark record in 9:00.80 after finishing 7th and will progress no further.
Despite the covid-19 pandemic a record 733 athletes (405 men, 328 women) have registered for the this championships, which has attracted 17 reigning European Indoor.
