Newly Switched To Bahrain Nelly Jepkogei Provisional Suspended For Tampering

Former Kenya athletes now switched to Bahrain, Nelly Jepkogei has been provisional suspended for tampering according to Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU), thereby violation article 2.5.

The 29 years old Nelly still hold Kenya 1000m record with 2:35.30. A dispute ensured between Bahrain and Kenya before her switch could be formalized and eligible to run for Bahrain from March 2021.

She refused to represent Kenya at the 2019 African Games, despite being selected. She holds personal bests of 1:58.96 minutes for the 800m and 4:00.99 minutes for the 1500 metres.
