World Champion Walsh Humble By Jacko Hill In Auckland Meet As Australia Brooke Shows Class

The Timaru born World Champion, New Zealand Tomas Walsh was humbled on the local Auckland meet on Friday (18) by World Junior Record Holder and double World Junior Champion Jacko Gill in the Shot Put.

Gill showed he’s at home in his Auckland born city to beat almighty Walsh to improve his personal best to 20.86m on his fourth throw; only to equal it again on his fifth throw while Walsh managed to throw 20.14m.

In nearby Meet in neighbouring country, Australia; Australia long jump record holder Brooke Stratton was almost at her best to win in 6.71m.
