The world 400m record holder and Olympics Champion, South Africa Wayde Van Niekerk hope to run fast today at the Potchefstroom local meet in South Africa. Having been hamstrung to express himself fully on the track after tested positive to covid-19.
“With me not be fully satisfied with my comeback this year after tested positive to covid-19 and not be able to compete”, explained Van on his instagram.
“I’m grateful to South Africa Athletics Northwest for hosting an event for athletes to compete competitive again.
“Am looking forward to compete on Tuesday evening in the 400m and excited to see how my body feels again in a race situation.
“This will give me great indication to see where I am at my training and what needs to be done to get some positive momentum physically and mentally towards 2021 session”.
