World Champion, German Johannes Vetter breaks his own German Javelin record with a second longest Javelin throw of 97.76m at the Continental Tour Gold level athletics meet in Chorzow.
The 27-year-old, Dresden born German Javelin star was just 72cm short of the World Record, set by three-time Olympic champion Jan Železný in 1996.
The throw gave Vetter the win at the Memorial Kamali event in Poland on Sunday (6th September), with home hope Marcin Krukowski finishing second with 84.62m.
The current men’s javelin throw World record is held by Jan Železný at 98.48 m since 1996.
Ryan Crouser could not push up his form in shot put to land 23m mark; but was still impressive with five over 22m to in 22.70m. British Champion, Laura Muir notched up another impressive win in 1500m as she dipped under 4 minutes again to win in 3:58.24s.
