Track meet in Portland, Oregon produced unbelievable athletics fire display on Monday night as US-based Bowerman Track Club hosted an intra-squad meet.
The meet which had only four events (men’s and women’s 1500m and 5000m) produced three world leads.
In the men’s 5000m Sean McGorty clocked the fastest time in the World in 2020 of 13:11.22 to deafeat narrowly teammate Grant Fisher (13:11.68) and Rio Olympic Games silver medalist Evan Jager (13:12.12).
Elise Cranny who won the women’s 5000m clocked 14:48.02, the 7th fastest times in US history, while steeplechaser Courtney Frerichs, the World Championships silver medalist clocked 14:50.06 the 8th fastest time in US history.
In the women’s 1500m, American record holder Shelby Houlihan produced a world-leading 4:02.37 while Karissa Schweizer finished second in a new PB of 4:02.81.
In the men’s 1500m Josh Thompson clocked 3:39.66 edging out Lopez Lomong (3:39.66) and Mo Ahmed (3:39.84).
