A Swedish Eritrean-born runner Robel Fsiha who won European cross country Championship in December 19 has tested positive for unnamed substances, it was announced by his club Sparvagen yesterday.
Fsiha was already suspended in February when his sample A tested positive after a race in Addis Ababa on November 2019, but his B sample has also confirmed positive.
“The B sample has now been analysed and it came back with the same result as the A sample. We await Swedish Anti-Doping investigation”, Sparvagen representative David Fridell said..
Fsiha owns a half-marathon personal best of 61:18 from the Bahrain Night Half Marathon in 2019. He ran the 5,000m event as fast as 13:49.97, four months later at the KBC Night of Athletics which took place in Heusden-Zolder.
