World Athletics 2015 Silver Medalist In Premature Retirement

It is with a shock and disbelief athletics watchers all over the World greeted the sudden annoucement of retirement on Sunday by Chinese High jump indoor record holder and silver medalist at Beijing 2015 World Athletics Championship.

The 28 years old Yantai born Chinese made the announcement by posting on his twitter page

“I’m sorry, I can’t really jump anymore, so I decided to retire,”  Zhang wrote on his Twitter page.

The 6ft tall high jumper has a personal indoor jump of 2.33m and outdoor 2.38m, 0.01m shy away from Chinese outdoor high jump record.
