The Africa Men Basketball League which supposed to start next week in Senegal has been postponed over the coronavirus outbreak. According to BBC, the African Basketball League took the decision after an advise from the Senegalese government.
The league was to comprise 12 teams across the African which was borne out of a fruitful partnership of America’s National Basketball Association (NBA) and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). The 12 teams are: Algeria, Angola, Cameroun, Egypt, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal and Tunisia. Out of these 12 countries, 5 countries have confirmed positive diagnosis of the virus which now stand at 12 cases on the African continent. The spread are: Algeria-5, Egypt -2, Senegal-2, Morocco-1, Nigeria-1 and Tunisia-1.
