Inside the magnificent Emirates Arena in Glasgow in what suppose to be an invitational 800m race, Jemma Reekie came out as an hungry lion starved of record book. She destroyed the strong field to shattered the British Record and Scottish record by winning in a time of 1.57.91s.
The 5 times European champion over 150m and 300m Laura Muir was chased down over the last 150m by Reekie last year double European U23 champion to break Jenny Meadows’s British 800m indoor of 1.58.43s and Muir 800m indoor Scottish of 1.59.50s. Muir came second in a time of 1.58.44s life best.
