The World 2017 fastest 200m Isaac Makwala who was unfairly stopped from running 400m final by fathon medical report was smoking in the semi-final after he was declared fit earlier. But before then he was made to run his own 200m heat alone on lane 7 before he was allowed to join the semi-final.
In the first semi final, Makwala showed class by running 20.14s to place second to Isiah Young 20.12s to qualify for final. Yohan Blake was out after he came 4th in 20.52s. Van Wayde was third in 20.28s and qualify as fastest qualifier for final.
