The Asian 100m record holder , Nigeria born Qatar speed star Femi Ogunode was upset in the 100m at the current Asian Games. The Iranian fasted man Hassan Taftian with 10.04s brushed aside the heavy rain to beat the defending champion Ogunode to win in 10.25s to Ogunode 10.26s. It was another below par perfomance from Ogunode who has not recovered from last year inexplicable dip in form. The Indian took over the 400m when Yahya Muhammed Anas(a sub 45 runner} took the title in 45.77s to beat his compatriot Anikia Rajiv 46.14s.
Triple Olympics Game Medalist Andre De Grasse has won his third consecutive Canadian 100m title yesterday to cement his record as one of the greatest Canadian sprinter. He ran 10.11s to beat Rodney Brendon 10.18s.
The 2012 Olympics 400m Champion and 2016 Rio Olympics 400m Silver medalist Kirani James is officially out of the London World Champion coming up in August. The Grenadian strong man is reported recovering from undisclosed illness. He has not raced since April where he finished in sub-par 46.21s to finished in sixth place.
