Finally Kerly Broke NCAA 400m Record With Nigeria Amusa Flying Into the Final

The new 400m sensation  Fred Kerly of Texas T$M{US} who missed the World Indoor 400m record narrowlly  early this year was on a full blast in early hour of today in NCAA West Preliminary. After intelligent ran the heat in 45.95s came out in the quarter final to shattered the 25 years old NCAA record by running 43.70s. Interestingly, the man he broke his record; Quicy Watt {44.00s} a 1992 Olympics Champion was at the stadium to witness the record breaking race.

Obi Igbokwe of Nigeria was impressive. He qualify for today’s semifinal after came out of lane 6 to place 4th in heat 3 in a time of 45.72s. Oluwatobiloba Amusa was more in commnading fashion as she led the qualify round in a time of 12.63s {4.3m/s}. Another Nigeria Mofinyinfoluwa Olushola{13.46s} and Chinyere Njoku{13.47s} also qualified for the semifinal.
