The International Table Tennis Federation has concluded to discard the current world ranking scheme. The current ranking rewarded points base on result against opponents; that is you only gain points by winning and lose points once you are defeated regardless at what stage you are defeated.
The new ranking scheme will start in January 2018. The new ranking will be calculated by simple method which will give priority to your participation and progression in the ITTF World Tour and other ITTF events. And this the ITTF believes will encourage more players and sponsors to take part in ITTF events.
